Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia convened a high-profile meeting with leading telecom executives, including Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani, Bharti Airtel founder Sunil Bharti Mittal, and Vodafone Idea CEO Akshaya Moondra, on Tuesday. The objective was to chart a comprehensive growth roadmap for the telecom industry.

This marks the first meeting with telecom leaders under the NDA government's third term led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and follows a recent hike in mobile tariffs ranging from 10-27 percent. Scindia emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to foster the sector's growth while safeguarding consumer interests.

'We have set an extensive agenda for these committees. The members and I will work collaboratively moving forward,' stated Scindia. The meeting also included Vodafone Idea CEO Moondra, COAI Director General S P Kochhar, and other key representatives. Six committees have been formed to shape India's communication sector, aligning with the Prime Minister's vision for a self-reliant and globally competitive telecom sector.
