Hyderabad, Telangana, India – Medtronic has inaugurated its first large-scale Global IT Center outside the US at the Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including Telangana's Minister for IT, Industries and Commerce, Shri D Sridhar Babu, and US Consul General, Ms. Jennifer Larson.

Medtronic has committed to invest $60 million over the next 3-5 years in this initiative. This investment will help cultivate a rich talent pool in the IT and technology space and is expected to create 300 new job opportunities. The center will focus on advanced technologies such as Cloud Engineering, Data Platforms, Digital Health applications, Hyper automation, and AI/ML.

Rashmi Kumar, SVP and CIO at Medtronic, emphasized that the center will reinforce the company's global technology capabilities and showcases Medtronic's dedication to the Indian market. The initiative will also drive innovation, enhance IT capabilities, and contribute to the vibrant tech ecosystem in Hyderabad.
