Kerala is set to host its inaugural international Gen AI conclave next week, marking a significant step in its journey to become India's preeminent hub for artificial intelligence (AI), as announced by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday.
In a Facebook post, Vijayan revealed that over a thousand delegates are expected to participate in the two-day event, scheduled for July 11 and 12 in Kochi. The conclave, organized in collaboration with global tech giant IBM, will also feature the WatsonX Challenge, designed to bridge academic knowledge and real-life applications in generative AI.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the winning team of the WatsonX Challenge, which includes over 50 AI-focused startups, will receive an award and a unique opportunity to present their ideas to international investors. Additionally, Vijayan indicated that several other companies are keen to invest in Kerala, thereby boosting AI-based investments in the state.
The event promises to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore AI's transformative potential and its societal and economic impacts. P Rajeev, the state Industries Minister, underscored that the conclave underscores Kerala's dedication to innovation and Industry 4.0 readiness, aiming to strengthen economic growth through generative AI innovations.
