Engine component and generator manufacturer Cooper Corporation announced on Thursday its collaboration with Japanese firm Sinfonia Technology to introduce LPG gensets in domestic and international markets.

Additionally, the two companies are jointly developing hydrogen engines for both on-road and off-road applications, according to a statement from the Maharashtra-based Cooper Corporation.

The CPCB IV+ certified LPG gensets, developed under this partnership, will be showcased at the Gas India Expo 2024 in Expo Centre Greater Noida next month.

The emission standards CPCB IV+ are the latest and most stringent environmental regulations for diesel generators by India's Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

These co-branded gensets, designed to meet rigorous CPCB IV+ emission standards, are set to be launched in India, Japan, and ASEAN markets, the company stated.

"Our partnership with Sinfonia Technology reflects our shared vision of delivering solutions that exceed customer expectations," remarked Farrokh N Cooper, Chairman and Managing Director of Cooper Corporation Pvt Ltd.

Engineered for a compact footprint, low operational costs, and ease of maintenance, these gensets offer an economical alternative to traditional diesel gensets and grid power, the company noted.

Masaki Tatsuda, Manager of Social Infrastructure Sales Section at Sinfonia Technology Co Ltd, added, "Through our combined expertise, we aspire to empower customers with reliable, eco-friendly power solutions that lead to a greener future."

Hydrogen as a fuel is already utilized in nations like Japan and the US, with plans afoot for its introduction in India. Cooper Corporation further revealed that both partners are developing a series of hydrogen engines for both on-road and off-road use.

Cooper Corporation specialises in manufacturing components, diesel, and gas engines across 13 production facilities in Satara, Maharashtra. Sinfonia Technology operates in various sectors including automotive testing systems, aerospace, industrial vehicles, and robotics.
