The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) hosted its inaugural Sangam Networking Event at IIT Delhi on June 18-19, 2024, marking a significant milestone in advancing Digital Twin-enabled solutions across diverse sectors. Over 100 participants, including industry leaders, gathered to chart comprehensive blueprints aimed at tackling challenges and leveraging varied data sources.

The event facilitated in-depth discussions and breakout sessions on key verticals such as multimodal transport planning, healthcare accessibility enhancement, environmental quality assessment, and disaster response system management. Horizontal topics included Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), AI governance frameworks, virtual world creation, and mathematical modeling for physics-based simulations.

Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Secretary of Telecommunications, addressed participants, emphasizing the initiative's objective to develop viable projects, secure funding, and present robust infrastructure planning tools at the national level. He highlighted the collaborative spirit among participants in generating innovative ideas and capabilities crucial for future projects.

Participants collaborated to devise holistic solutions that integrate economic, social, and environmental factors, harnessing cross-sectoral data integration while prioritizing privacy through advanced technologies. The event underscored the pivotal role of AI-driven insights and collaborative environments in addressing contemporary challenges effectively.

Upcoming Sangam Networking Events are scheduled at IIT Bombay on June 25-26, 2024, PES University Bangalore on July 3-4, 2024, and T-Hub Hyderabad on July 10-11, 2024. The DoT invites stakeholders to participate actively in these events to further drive transformative advancements in digital solutions.
