The Karnataka High Court has dismissed the petitions filed by renowned badminton player Lakshya Sen, alongside his family and coach, over allegations of fabricating birth certificates.
The controversy stemmed from accusations made by a private complainant, claiming that Sen's family falsified birth records to make the athlete eligible for age-limited tournaments. As a result, the court highlighted sufficient documentary support for pursuing an investigation.
Justice M G Uma emphasized the need for investigation due to the prima facie evidence presented, rejecting the petitioners' claim of harassment and personal vendetta. Consequently, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed to probe the alleged forgery.
