Delhi Felicitates Paralympic Heroes: Inspiring Future Generations

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi paid tribute to Indian Paralympians on Thursday, acknowledging their remarkable achievements with cash awards. A ceremony was held to inspire government school students by showcasing the journeys of these sportspersons.

Awardee Sharad Kumar, a para high jumper, received Rs 2.5 crore for winning a silver medal at Paris 2024 Paralympics. Aman Sherawat, a freestyle wrestler, was honored with Rs 1 crore for his bronze at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Other celebrated athletes like Vikash Singh, Tulika Maan, and Amoj Jacob were also recognized alongside athletics coach Salaj Kumar Roy.

Atishi highlighted the impact of these athletes' stories on aspiring students. Paralympian Sharad Kumar expressed gratitude for his teachers and support systems.
