In a historic move for Indian cricket, Jasprit Bumrah has surpassed the longstanding rating-point record set by Ravichandran Ashwin. On Wednesday, Bumrah achieved 907 points in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings, breaking Ashwin's previous high of 904 from December 2016.

Bumrah's remarkable performance during the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) helped him secure this milestone. Despite India's loss, Bumrah took nine wickets, consolidating his position as the No. 1 Test bowler in the latest rankings update. This accomplishment also places him at joint-17th with Derek Underwood of England on the all-time list.

Meanwhile, Australia's Pat Cummins continues to shine, earning 15 rating points and moving up to No. 3 in the Test bowler rankings. His impressive performance also saw him climb to third in the Test all-rounder standings. Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Kumar Reddy also made gains following their commendable performances in the series.
