Central Coast Mariners Struggle: No Attitude Issues, Says Coach Jackson
Central Coast Mariners' head coach Mark Jackson refutes claims that the team's poor performance stems from bad attitudes. Despite falling to 10th place after a successful prior season, Jackson asserts unity remains strong. Preparations to bolster the squad during the transfer window are ongoing.
Central Coast Mariners' head coach, Mark Jackson, has downplayed suggestions that a poor attitude among players is the reason behind his team's struggles in the current A-League season. The Mariners, who swept to victory with a treble last year, now find themselves languishing in 10th position.
Following a heavy 4-1 defeat against league leaders Auckland FC, Jackson criticized certain players but denied any long-term issues, emphasizing unity and determination within the squad. "There's no bust-ups, there's no continued bad attitude," he stated after their 1-1 draw with Melbourne City in Gosford.
Jackson expressed plans to strengthen the team during the upcoming transfer window, acknowledging the need for fresh talent to bridge the 11-point gap from Auckland. "We're moving down the line with a few options," he said, indicating active scouting and recruitment efforts.
