Countdown Begins: National Sports Awards Application Deadline Approaches

The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced that the applications for the National Sports Awards will be accepted until November 14. These prestigious awards highlight achievements in various sports categories and aim to recognize and honor outstanding performances by sportspersons in India.

This year's list includes coveted titles such as the Arjuna Award, Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, and the Lifetime Arjuna Award, along with the Dronacharya Award for exceptional coaching. Additional honors include the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy, the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar, and the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award.

Highlighting last year's victories, badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, known as 'Sat-Chi', dominated the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for their transformative influence in Indian badminton. Their achievements include multiple World Federation titles, a historic gold at the Asian Games, and attaining the world number one doubles ranking.
