Pep Clotet Stands Firm on Krollis Dismissal
Triestina coach Pep Clotet defended his actions after confronting player Raimonds Krollis, who was red-carded during a Serie C match. Clotet insisted his reaction was justified due to Krollis' aggressive behavior. Clotet stated that Krollis will no longer play for the club under his management.
Pep Clotet, the coach of Triestina, justified his confrontational response towards player Raimonds Krollis after the latter's expulsion from the field. The incident, occurring during a Serie C match, saw Krollis receive a red card for striking an opponent, leading to Triestina's 1-0 defeat to Giana Erminio.
Krollis was dramatically grabbed by his collar and pushed by Clotet as he left the pitch. In a post-match statement, Clotet stated that the action warranted such a reaction, emphasizing that such behavior should not be permissible in football.
Lega Pro and Krollis' management have yet to comment. Clotet criticized Krollis, a loaned player from Spezia, for the negative impact on Triestina and the game, and announced that Krollis would no longer be part of the team under his coaching.
