Hisense Strikes Key Partnership for FIFA Club World Cup
Hisense has been announced as the first official partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, set to occur in the United States. The deal will give Hisense branding rights associated with the Video Assistant Referee. The expanded tournament faces criticism for potentially overloading the players' schedules.
Chinese electronics giant Hisense has become the first official partner for next year's FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA announced on Wednesday. Details of the financial aspect of the agreement remain undisclosed, but Hisense will gain branding during the 32-team competition set for the United States next summer.
The company's involvement with FIFA traces back to 2017, when it first joined as a sponsor. Speaking at the partnership announcement in Shanghai, FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Hisense, describing it as a global market leader.
Looking ahead, FIFA anticipates more sponsorship deals amidst criticism of the expanded tournament, which has been accused of player exploitation due to the congested schedule. Key teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Chelsea will face off in the restructured event.
