Exhibiting impressive offensive tactics, the Red and Gold Brigade, under the guidance of coach Oscar Bruzon, established a comfortable lead by halftime with an outstanding performance.
Dimitrios Diamantakos wasted no time, opening the scoring with an early goal in the first minute, courtesy of Lalchungnunga's precise cross. The Kolkata side continued their relentless assault, doubling their advantage in the 20th minute with Souvik Chakrabarti's left-footed strike from the edge of the box, an effort that left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance.
Nandhakumar Sekar and Anwar Ali further cemented East Bengal's control, each finding the net within the first half. Despite strong counterattacks and quick movements from both flanks, Bashundhara Kings could not break through East Bengal's steadfast defense orchestrated by Ali and Hijazi Maher.
