Upon their return to the Sports Authority of India in Bengaluru, the Indian junior men's hockey team has taken time to reflect on their bronze medal achievement in the Sultan of Johor Cup, held in Malaysia. The team clinched bronze in a thrilling play-off against New Zealand.
Despite finishing at the top of the points table, with impressive victories over Japan, Great Britain, Malaysia, and New Zealand, a defeat by Australia cost them a place in the final. Under the guidance of coach PR Sreejesh, they demonstrated remarkable fighting spirit.
With the Junior Asia Cup on the horizon, the team is focusing on securing the title. The event, set to start on November 26 in Muscat, Oman, also serves as a qualifier for the FIH Junior World Cup.
