Kho Kho's Global Debut: Inaugural World Cup Set to Make Waves

The global sporting landscape is set to experience a novel edition as the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup gears up for launch in New Delhi. Scheduled from January 13 to 19 at the Indira Gandhi International Stadium, this seminal event will host 24 nations, as confirmed by the national federation on Friday.
Africa will be represented by Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda, promising to deliver promising talents. This ensures a broad participation range, with Asia represented by eleven countries including India, Bangladesh, and Iran. Additionally, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania will see involvement, making it a truly international affair.
Sporting both men's and women's divisions, the tournament will feature 16 teams in each category. According to KKFI president Sudhanshu Mittal, the championship marks a historic shift for Kho Kho, propelling it toward becoming an international sport. KKFI's MS Tyagi emphasizes that this event eyes transforming Kho Kho into a global phenomenon.
