Shami, 34, returned to practice after India's first Test against New Zealand, under the keen observation of bowling coach Morne Morkel. Starting with a cautious, short run-up, Shami eventually unleashed his full pace, delivering balls with speed and precision, often leaving assistant coach Abhishek Nayar in awe.
While India's skipper Rohit Sharma doubts Shami's readiness for the upcoming Australia tour, Shubman Gill, who also joined the nets after missing the first Test due to a stiff neck, practiced lightly alongside Shami.
