Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, has articulated a bold vision for India's future in sports, projecting the nation as one of the top ten performers globally. Speaking at the inauguration of the upgraded SAI Golf Course in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, he emphasized the significant role the 2036 Olympics will play in nurturing domestic talent.

Mandaviya expressed pride in the establishment of the SAI National Golf Academy, Kerala's pioneering facility designed to global standards with a nine-hole golf course and cutting-edge fitness amenities. The minister lauded the Trivandrum Golf Club for its role in the community and its status as a beacon of sporting excellence. He tested the upgraded facilities firsthand by playing a round of golf.

Initiated with backing from the Ministry of Tourism, the project reflects the Indian government's dedication to enhancing sports infrastructure. Completed by the CPWD, with a budget of Rs 9.27 crore, it aligns with international benchmarks. During the event, Mandaviya also recognized international athletes, with key dignitaries, including Suresh Gopi and Kerala's top officials, in attendance.
