Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Varanasi Sports Complex on Sunday, where he will unveil lighting displays prepared for his arrival. The visit marks the inauguration of new facilities to boost sports infrastructure, including Phases 2 and 3 of the complex's redevelopment, valued at over Rs 210 crore under the 'Khelo India' scheme and the Smart City Mission.

The ambitious redevelopment project will host a National Centre of Excellence, facilities for players, a sports science centre, practice areas, and arenas for shooting and combat sports. Additionally, PM Modi will announce airport projects totaling Rs 6,100 crore, with a highlight being the inauguration of the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital providing extensive eye healthcare services.

By 4:15 pm, the Prime Minister will oversee multiple developmental initiatives, including the expansion of Varanasi airport. The foundation stone will be laid for a new terminal and runway enhancements at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, at an estimated cost of Rs 2,870 crore. Further, he will initiate projects at Agra, Darbhanga, and Bagdogra airports. Overall, these ventures aim to elevate the passenger capacity significantly, with designs reflecting local heritage architecture.
