In a closely contested Indian Super League (ISL) encounter at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, FC Goa suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat to Mumbai City FC. An inspired second-half performance and a goal by Armando Sadiku were not enough for the Gaurs to overturn the two-goal lead established by Mumbai in the first half.

Prior to the match, FC Goa's head coach, Manolo Marquez, switched up the squad with four changes from their draw against NorthEast United FC. Despite dominating early play, questionable officiating decisions left FC Goa frustrated. Key fouls and infringements went unnoticed, setting a challenging tone for the home team.

Mumbai City capitalized, scoring in the 21st minute with Nikolaos Karelis heading in a Yoell Van Nieff free-kick. Attempts to equalize were thwarted, as Sadiku narrowly missed a close-range opportunity. A strategic strike by Van Nieff extended Mumbai's lead, leaving FC Goa trailing at halftime. Despite renewed vigor and a penalty conversion by Sadiku in the second half, FC Goa could not secure an equalizer and are now focusing on their next clash against Chennaiyin FC.
