World Surf League Announces 2025 Tour: Abu Dhabi Joins the Wave

The World Surf League (WSL) announced significant changes to its 2025 world tour lineup, including the addition of the world's largest artificial wave in Abu Dhabi. This new stop will be part of an 11-stop schedule with Fiji set to host the finals, crowning the season's world champions.

The comprehensive tour kicks off at the formidable Banzai Pipeline in Hawaii this January, followed by a visit to the innovative Surf Abu Dhabi wave pool in the UAE, marking its debut appearance. The tour's CEO, Ryan Crosby, emphasized a well-rounded schedule, reviving storied sites like South Africa's Jeffreys Bay and Australia's Snapper Rocks.

Excitement mounts with the final showdown taking place at Cloudbreak, Fiji, lauded for its challenging surf conditions, contrasting with previous events at California's Lower Trestles. This year's format will see the mid-season cut maintained at the seventh stop in Western Australia's Margaret River.
