In a commanding performance at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur led her team to an impressive 82-run victory against Sri Lanka in Dubai. Kaur, who earned the Player of the Match accolade, expressed satisfaction with her team's execution of strategy as they ticked all the boxes in batting, bowling, and fielding.

The skipper delivered a potent 52 runs off 27 balls, just days after a minor injury, bolstering India to a strong score of 172 for three. Her innings included the tournament's biggest six so far, crucially supporting India's challenge for a semi-final berth. Kaur emphasized her focus on strike rotation and execution when the chances arose.

Contributions also came from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, who secured a 98-run opening partnership. Despite a mid-innings setback, Jemimah Rodrigues and Kaur ensured the momentum persisted. India's bowlers dismissed Sri Lanka for 90, putting India second in Group A, ahead of their critical game against Australia in Sharjah.
