These upgrades are being executed with various major events in focus, including matches featuring Pakistan's men's team and England's women's team this summer.

Among the high-profile fixtures at this iconic venue is the inaugural ODI of the Women's Ashes series between Australia and England, set for January 14, followed by the eagerly awaited Women's Ashes Test scheduled from January 30 to February 2. Furthermore, the first ODI of the three-match series against Pakistan kicks off on November 4, which signals the commencement of cricket season action at the MCG. Just days later, a four-day match between India 'A' and Australia 'A' begins on November 7.

The centerpiece event remains the historic Boxing Day Test between India and Australia, commencing on December 26. As preparations for the cricket season progress, the MCG is removing the AFL posts and installing drop-in pitches. The stadium also serves as a venue for Australian rules football, soccer, and rugby events.
