FIFA has imposed a 10-game ban on Marco Curto, an Italian soccer player, for making a discriminatory remark aimed at South Korean forward Hee Chan Hwang during a preseason match between Como and Wolverhampton.

Curto, 25, will also be required to perform community service and receive training and education approved by FIFA, according to a statement from the governing body.

Initially, Como defended Curto's comment, claiming it was not derogatory. However, following a formal complaint from the South Korea Football Association, Curto was notified of his suspension late Monday, also affecting his loan move to Serie B club Cesena.
