Wolverhampton Wanderers' Yerson Mosquera Faces Lengthy Surgery Recovery
Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Yerson Mosquera will miss the remainder of the Premier League season due to a severe knee injury. The 23-year-old underwent scans revealing damage to his MCL and ACL, necessitating surgery. Mosquera had started all five games for Wolves this season, who are currently in the relegation zone.
Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Yerson Mosquera is set to miss the rest of the Premier League season after suffering a serious knee injury, the club announced on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old was stretchered off during Wolves' 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa, with scans revealing damage to both his medial collateral ligament (MCL) and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Surgery is required, but no definitive timeline for his return has been set. 'We'll be consulting specialists in the coming days to finalise the surgery plan,' noted Phil Hayward, Wolves' head of high performance.
Hayward added, 'There is clearly a long recovery ahead for Yerson, but the club will offer all necessary support to ensure a successful rehabilitation.' Having played all five of Wolves' Premier League games this season, Mosquera's absence is a considerable setback for the team currently languishing in the relegation zone.
