India's premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin predicts that Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be pivotal in the upcoming overseas tours. Following a 1-0 series win over Bangladesh in Kanpur, despite weather disruptions, the spotlight is on these young stars as future staples of the team.

Young talents Gill and Jaiswal have earned praise for their performances, signaling a smooth transition when cricket legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma eventually retire. Ashwin anticipates their significant contribution in the highly awaited BGT series, which could play a crucial role in India's World Test Championship aspirations.

In a post-match press conference, Ashwin lauded Jaiswal's freestyling approach and Gill's consistency, calling them high-quality players who will benefit from their upcoming experiences. He dismissed claims that Jaiswal's aggression was inspired by England's 'Bazball' strategy, emphasizing that the young southpaw's style is inherent and part of modern cricket evolution.

India's strategy during the Kanpur Test, which included aggressive play despite potential setbacks, was on full display. Declaring at 285/9 in just 34.4 overs after dismissing Bangladesh for 233 marked India's innovative approach.

Rohit Sharma's attacking play and Jaiswal's controlled aggression were evident, with Jaiswal ending the series as the top run-scorer. Complementing him, Gill showcased his prowess with a century in Chennai, finishing as the second-highest scorer.
