India captain Rohit Sharma shed light on their new life under head coach Gautam Gambhir, decoding the aggressive tactics employed on Day 4 against Bangladesh's resilient bowling in the second Test in Kanpur. The team adopted an all-out approach, leaving Bangladesh stunned amidst a rain-curtailed match.

Rahul Dravid concluded his successful tenure as India's head coach with a T20 World Cup triumph earlier this year. Following his departure, Gautam Gambhir took the reins. Under his leadership, India has witnessed mixed results, but Rohit insists it's been a promising start. "We all keep going. At some point, new personnel had to step in. When Rahul Bhai said he was done, we had to move on. Gautam Gambhir brings a fresh mindset; it's early days, but it has been a good start," said Rohit.

A match highly disrupted by rain saw over two days of play lost. Nevertheless, Rohit's team seized the moment on Day 4, registering 437 runs and losing 18 wickets in just 85 overs. The aggressive stance culminated in a declaration at 285/9, compelling Bangladesh to face the challenging conditions.

"Despite losing over two days, our aim was to get them out quickly on Day 4 and then capitalize with the bat. Bowling them out for 230 wasn't about runs but opportunities. The pitch didn't offer much, so creating a game out of it was a superb effort," Rohit stated. The risk paid off as India notched a series win with a 7-wicket victory.

Among the positives from the 2-0 series triumph, Akash Deep's performance was noteworthy. He showcased his ability to swing the ball effectively, tallying five wickets, and emerging as a reliable option for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. "He's been excellent. Having played a lot of domestic cricket, he has the skill and endurance necessary for long spells. Preparing a strong bench is crucial," Rohit added. India ended the eventful match victorious by 7 wickets.
