Under the weight of immense pressure, true character often shines through. This was the case for Zimbabwean pacer Tinashe Muchawaya during the Zim Afro T10 season 2 final. After Jack Taylor smashed him for two sixes off the first two deliveries, Muchawaya had to defend 21 runs in the final over. With encouragement from his skipper Sikandar Raza, Muchawaya's fiery performance in the remaining four balls clinched the title for the Jo'Burg Bangla Tigers.

Muchawaya and the Tigers celebrated exuberantly. Just a year before, the pacer had contemplated quitting cricket and moving to South Africa. However, coach Stephen Mangongo guided him at Zimbabwe's High-Performance Centre, reigniting Muchawaya's passion for the game. Mangongo, known for leading Zimbabwe to a historic ODI win against Australia in 2014, played a pivotal role in Muchawaya's revival.

Reflecting on his journey, Muchawaya said, 'I wanted to quit cricket but Mr. Steve Mangongo took me under his wing. The High-Performance Centre gave me hope.' His hard work paid off, as he dreams of joining the national team, despite early setbacks in the Zim Afro T10. He went on to dismiss top players like Dawid Malan and twice scalped David Warner. 'I watched Warner's videos the entire week and knew where he struggled,' Muchawaya revealed, adding that the Zim Afro T10 has been pivotal for local players by attracting international attention.
