In a significant milestone during the Kanpur Test, India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja secured his 300th Test wicket on Monday. The historic achievement came as Jadeja skillfully dismissed Bangladesh tail-ender Khaled Ahmed.

Jadeja's feat places him among an elite group of 11 players who have surpassed 3000 runs and claimed 300 or more wickets in Test cricket. Notably, he achieved this in the second fewest matches, with only England's Ian Botham accomplishing it faster. India's bowling coach, Morne Morkel, was effusive in his praise for Jadeja during the post-day press conference.

'For me, he is a complete package. He bats, he bowls, and his fielding is magical. He is an X-Factor player who has consistently delivered for India over many years. To join the 300 Test wickets club is a special accomplishment. He continually works on his game, which is inspiring,' Morkel stated. The rain-curtailed match allowed for ample excitement on the fourth day, with India showing aggressive intent and achieving rapid scoring milestones. Despite the loss of two days to rain, India exhibited resilient play, becoming the quickest team to hit 50, 100, and 200 runs in the innings.

Skipper Rohit Sharma spearheaded India's approach, emphasizing positive intent to push for a win. 'That was our message this morning – to go for the win. With two days lost, demonstrating positive intent was crucial,' said Morkel. 'Scoring at over 14 runs in the initial overs and maintaining a sublime run rate of 8.22, the approach was part of our game plan and the boys executed it brilliantly,' he added.

The day concluded with Bangladesh at 26/2, trailing by 26 runs, signaling a gripping continuation to the rain-affected Test match. (ANI)
