Debutants Mohammedan Sporting Club secured their first point in the Indian Super League (ISL) with a 1-1 draw against FC Goa on Saturday.
Primarily controlling the game, Mohammedan Sporting took the lead in the 66th minute through Alexis Gomez's penalty. However, Armando Sadiku's header in stoppage time (90+4 minute) meant both teams walked away with a point at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.
The hosts dominated the proceedings much like their previous match against NorthEast United, generating multiple chances through Carlos Franca and Gomez. Franca, who was highly active in offense, had several close opportunities but couldn't capitalize, his best effort hitting the crossbar. Mohammedan Sporting were rewarded for their aggressive play when Gomez successfully converted a penalty, drawn by Franca. However, FC Goa equalized in stoppage time with a headed goal from Sadiku off an Aakash Sangwan cross.
