Brisbane Lions Roar Into AFL Grand Final After Thrilling Win

In a thrilling showdown at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Brisbane Lions clinched a spot in the Australian Football League (AFL) grand final after edging out the Geelong Cats by 10 points.

Brisbane triumphed in the preliminary final with a scoreline of 14.11 (95) to 12.13 (85) and now look towards winning their first premiership since 2003. The Lions had to weather a late charge from Geelong, who briefly took the lead with three minutes to go. However, quick responses from forwards Callum Ah Chee and Cam Rayner secured the victory for Brisbane.

Rayner, who netted two goals, expressed his elation post-game, stating, "I'm so happy we get to try again, hopefully we correct our wrongs from last year." Despite a rocky first quarter and losing ruckman Oscar McInerney to injury in the third, Brisbane's persistence paid off as they advanced to their second consecutive grand final. The Lions now set their sights on the Sydney Swans, aiming to become the second team since 2000 to win the premiership from outside the top four in the regular season.
