The India Capitals are ready to start their campaign for Season 3 of Legends League Cricket (LLC) as they face last season's runner-up, Toyam Hyderabad, in their first match on Saturday at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur. The Capitals, who won the inaugural LLC season, look to begin strong under newly appointed captain Ian Bell, a former English batting legend.
Gautam Gambhir, who captained India Capitals to their maiden LLC title in 2022, has stepped down to take the role of Coach for the Indian Cricket Team. Ian Bell brings over a decade of international cricket experience and will lead a robust squad featuring key players like Ashley Nurse, Dwayne Smith, and Colin de Grandhomme. Explosive opener Ben Dunk is expected to provide fast starts for the Capitals.
The squad is further enhanced by former Indian stars Naman Ojha, Parwinder Awana, Barinder Saran, and Dhawal Kulkarni. The Capitals' opponents, Toyam Hyderabad, led by Suresh Raina, boast seasoned players like Gurkeerat Singh and Isuru Udana, posing a strong challenge. The 2024 LLC will feature six teams, and India Capitals will play group-stage matches across Jodhpur, Surat, and Jammu, with the final slated for October 16, 2024, in Srinagar. The second game of LLC Season 3 between India Capitals and Toyam Hyderabad will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network on Saturday from 3 PM IST and streamed live on FanCode.
