Liverpool will be without midfielder Harvey Elliott for several weeks due to a fractured foot, manager Arne Slot said on Friday. This is disappointing news for the club as they face seven matches across three competitions over the next three weeks. Slot expects Alexis Mac Allister to return on Saturday as Liverpool aims to continue their perfect start to the Premier League against Nottingham Forest.

'Harvey's injury is not just a big disappointment for him but also for us,' Slot told reporters. 'He showed himself well in pre-season and would have had significant playing time in the upcoming fixtures.'

Slot confirmed Mac Allister's return to training and expects him to play on Saturday. Liverpool and Manchester City are the only teams to have won their first three matches. Slot, who replaced long-time manager Juergen Klopp, remains optimistic that his players haven't lost momentum despite the international break.

Regarding the contracts of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Slot stated there were no updates and downplayed any disruption. On Caoimhin Kelleher's future, Slot acknowledged it's normal for players to want more playing time but reaffirmed that Alisson remains the club's current first-choice goalkeeper. Nottingham Forest has also had a decent season start with one win and two draws.
