Harmilan Bains, a double Asian Games medallist, experienced extreme despair after missing the Paris Olympics due to injuries. Struggling with depression, the star athlete even contemplated suicide. Her injuries have cast doubt on her athletic career, and she is now exploring a potential shift to modelling.

The 26-year-old runner clinched silver medals in both the 800m and 1500m events at the Asian Games in China. However, a series of injuries, including a 'Grade 2B' hamstring tear, thwarted her Olympic dreams. 'I really wanted to be in the Paris Olympics and gave my all, but recurrent injuries affected my performance,' she shared.

Presently confined to her home in Mohali, Harmilan may soon undergo surgery for her hamstring tear. The injury will keep her from any form of competition for at least nine months. Despite previous successes, her future in athletics remains uncertain as she considers modelling as an alternative career path.
