The U.S. team is hungrier than ever to end their Solheim Cup drought but is maintaining a relaxed attitude ahead of their faceoff with the European squad, U.S. captain Stacy Lewis revealed on Wednesday. The U.S. team had to accept a 14-14 draw with Europe last year in Spain, allowing their rivals to retain the Cup for a third straight time. 'Unfinished business' has now become their rally cry.

'These girls want that trophy. They'll occasionally talk about it, but I believe they need to enjoy themselves and have fun,' Lewis said. 'Relaxed teams that enjoy behind-the-scenes moments usually end up winning. So we've put a lot of emphasis on what's happening in the team room and on the bus. They asked for a karaoke machine; I got them a karaoke machine.'

The U.S. last captured the trophy in 2017, but Lewis assured the team feels no pressure. 'If we win, we stop the streak. If we lose, it continues. I'd love to stop it, but it's not pressure. Trust me, they're having lots of fun,' she added. The three-day competition kicks off Friday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
