Tyreek Hill Speaks Out on Controversial Traffic Stop Incident
Miami Dolphins' Tyreek Hill explained his side of a controversial traffic stop where he was handcuffed and removed from his vehicle. Hill admits he could have responded better but criticizes the police's aggressive actions. The incident is under investigation by Miami-Dade Police Department Internal Affairs.
Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill acknowledged Wednesday that his behavior during a weekend traffic stop could have been better, but he criticized the police's handling of the situation. Hill was handcuffed and removed from his car after an officer insisted he reopen his window.
During a press conference, Hill said, "I could have let down my window in that instant. But at the end of the day, I'm human. I got to follow rules." Hill's encounter with the police led the Miami-Dade Police Department to launch an Internal Affairs investigation.
Bodycam footage shows an officer becoming increasingly aggressive before forcefully removing Hill from his vehicle. Another officer then pinned Hill to the ground and handcuffed him. Hill described the experience as "shell-shocking" and criticized the officers' actions, questioning what might have happened without bodycams.
