In a pivotal match on Wednesday, the United States cemented their dominance over Chile in the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals held in Zhuhai, China. Key wins by Brandon Nakashima and Reilly Opelka secured an unassailable 2-0 lead for the American team.
Nakashima triumphed over Alejandro Tabilo 7-6 (5), 2-6, 7-6 (3), after Opelka had earlier defeated Cristian Garin 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3). These hard-fought victories ensure the US remains on course to reach the Final 8 knockout stage in Malaga, Spain, this November.
