The much-anticipated 31st edition of the Smt. Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Badminton Tournament is set to begin this Thursday, offering a substantial prize purse of Rs four lakh.

Organized by the Express Shuttle Club Trust in partnership with the Haryana Badminton Association, the tournament will take place at the Tau Devi Lal Multipurpose Indoor Stadium. The event continues its long-standing association with sports goods brand Yonex Sunrise.

Starting with the qualifying rounds from September 12 to 15, followed by the main draw matches from September 16 to 19, the tournament expects the participation of over 1,000 players born on or before January 1, 2006. The tournament, initiated by Viveck Goenka in 1991 in memory of his mother Krishna Khaitan, has been instrumental in producing badminton stars like Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu.
