Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday announced hefty cash awards for Indian athletes who triumphed at the Paralympic Games in Paris, with gold medallists receiving Rs 75 lakh, silver medallists Rs 50 lakh, and bronze medallists Rs 30 lakh.

Mixed teams events winners, like archer Sheetal Devi, will also be awarded Rs 22.5 lakh. This announcement was made during a celebratory event organized to honour the athletes' achievements.

Mandaviya emphasized his commitment to providing full support and enhanced facilities for para-athletes, aiming for an even greater medal haul at the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. India concluded their historic campaign in Paris with 29 medals, marking their best performance ever at the Paralympic Games.
