Tayyab Ikram, the current president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), is poised to be re-elected unopposed at the organization's 49th Congress in Muscat, Oman, on November 9.

Nominations for the FIH elections were finalized by the August 31 deadline, with National Associations, which are FIH members, submitting candidates. Ikram, who has a long history in the sport, including coaching roles with Pakistan and China, was first elected as FIH president on November 5, 2022, and has served on the FIH Executive Board since 2016.

The FIH Elections Oversight Panel has reviewed all nominations for the positions of FIH president and Executive Board members, confirming that they meet the necessary standards and criteria. Ikram, representing Hong Kong Macau, is the sole candidate for the president's position. Competing for the two female executive board positions are Danae Andrada Barrios, Katrin Kauschke, and Hazel Kennedy, while Alberto Daniel Budeisky, Erik Cornelissen, and Deon James Morgan are vying for the two male spots. The EOP aims to ensure a fair and transparent election process.
