Jack Draper, recovering from a fitness issue at the U.S. Open, is set to join the Davis Cup team in Manchester. Draper, who recently lost to Jannik Sinner in the U.S. Open semi-finals, will participate in upcoming matches against Finland, Argentina, and Canada.
Jack Draper, currently in recovery after sustaining a fitness issue during the U.S. Open, is preparing to join his Davis Cup teammates in Manchester this Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for Britain's top tennis player.
The 22-year-old Draper exited the U.S. Open semi-finals with a 7-5 7-6(3) 6-2 defeat against Jannik Sinner. The match saw Draper vomiting three times due to the sweltering heat and humidity in New York.
Spokesperson mentioned, "Jack will be joining the team in Manchester ahead of the first match on Wednesday. Jack and his team are working hard to get fit. Leon Smith will consider all factors for team selection." Britain's Davis Cup team will face Finland on Wednesday, Argentina on Friday, and 2022 champions Canada on Sunday in Group D.
