The highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between Australia and India is set to commence on November 22, with the first Test taking place in Perth.

Star Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh noted the unique blend of camaraderie and competitive spirit between the teams. While friendships flourish off the field, an intense rivalry fuels their on-field encounters. India has dominated the recent history of this series, winning the last four contests consecutively, including two victories on Australian soil in the 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons.

Marsh emphasized that this rivalry benefits the sport significantly. 'It's just the cricket that's been played between the two teams. There's great friendship with the Indian team, there's no hatred, but it's a great on-field rivalry. Australia versus India is an opportunity to grow the game of cricket,' Marsh said in a Star Sports interview.

The series continues with the second Test from December 6 to 10 at the Adelaide Oval, featuring a thrilling day-night format. Fans will then turn their attention to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test from December 14 to 18. The series reaches its penultimate stage with the Boxing Day Test from December 26 to 30 at Melbourne's iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The fifth and final Test, scheduled at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, promises to deliver a dramatic conclusion to this eagerly awaited contest.
