World Boxing president Boris van der Vorst aims to revolutionize the sport by incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure a more objective and transparent scoring system. This comes as the organization seeks official recognition from the IOC after the International Boxing Association (IBA) lost its Olympic status due to issues of financial transparency and governance.

The current boxing scoring system has faced criticism for its subjectivity and complexity, sparking outrage, most notably at the recent Paris Olympics when India's Nishant Dev lost despite a dominant performance. Van der Vorst emphasized the need to restore trust in boxing judging during an exclusive interview at the 44th Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly.

To gain IOC recognition, World Boxing must secure the backing of 50 national federations by the end of the year. Recently, 14 Asian countries voted to join Van der Vorst's organization, while 21 opted to remain with the IBA. The president remains optimistic about achieving the required support, stressing the importance of good governance and technological advancements in retaining boxing's place in the Summer Olympics.
