Thrilling Matches Mark Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department Championship

The Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship witnessed closely contested matches with the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board narrowly defeating the Central Board of Direct Taxes 5-4. Other highlights included ITBP Central Hockey Team drawing 3-3 with Central Secretariat, and the Railway Sports Promotion Board's 3-0 win over Steel Plant Sports Board. The All India Police Sports Control Board shone with a staggering 17-2 win against the Sports Authority of Gujarat, thanks to Akashdeep Singh's eight-goal performance.

The Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship saw high-octane action on Sunday. The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board eked out a hard-fought 5-4 win against the Central Board of Direct Taxes in their Pool A match.

For PSPB, Rosan Minz (9, 41), Yousuf Affan (2), Sumit Kumar (38), and Dipsan Tirkey (59) found the net. Pranam Gowda (29), Mareeswaran Sakthivel (50), and Vikash Choudhary (54, 60) scored for the Central Board of Direct Taxes.

In another Pool A match, the ITBP Central Hockey Team and Central Secretariat battled to a gripping 3-3 draw. Taranjot Singh (16), Vijay Kumar Gond (18), and Anil (57) were key players for ITBP, while captain M Hassan Bhasa (52, 53) and Kawaljit Singh (39) scored for Central Secretariat.

Meanwhile, the Railway Sports Promotion Board clinched a 3-0 win against the Steel Plant Sports Board in Pool B, led by Gursahibjit Singh (23) and Pardeep Singh (33, 47). The All India Police Sports Control Board overwhelmed the Sports Authority of Gujarat - Hockey Team with a dominant 17-2 victory. AIPSCB's skipper Akashdeep Singh scored eight goals, complemented by Dilpreet Singh's hat-trick.
