North Delhi Strikers clinched a place in the Women's Delhi Premier League final by defeating East Delhi Riders with a seven-wicket win in the rain-affected concluding league match on Saturday.
Opting to bat, the Riders posted 150 for two in 20 overs. The North Delhi Strikers, buoyed by Upasana Yadav's brilliant 65 off 44 balls, comfortably chased the revised D/L target after rain intervention. Upasana's early partnership with Mansi Sharma set a strong foundation, reaching 26/0 by the fourth over before rain delayed the chase.
Upon resumption, the Strikers met the revised target of 113 in 14 overs with ease. Despite a setback with Nazma Sultana's quick dismissal, Upasana's half-century stabilized the chase. With support from Ayushi Soni, the equation narrowed, and even after Yadav's departure, Soni and Monika sealed the victory with two balls to spare. They now prepare to face South Delhi Superstarz in the final on Sunday.
