In a display of sheer determination and resilience, India's Simran finished fourth in the women's 100 T12 final at the Paralympics on Thursday.
Simran, guided by Abhay Singh, clocked 12.31 seconds in a race won by Cuba's Omara Durand Elias, who finished in 11.81 seconds. Ukraine's Oksana Boturchuk and Germany's Katrin Mueller secured silver and bronze respectively.
The 24-year-old world champion from New Delhi had previously advanced to the final after a strong 12.33 seconds finish in the semifinals. Despite her visual impairment, Simran's journey has been marked by impressive performances, including a season's best of 12.17 in the heats.
