Indian Shooters Fall Short in Mixed 50m Rifle Prone (SH1) at Paralympic Games
Indian shooters Mona Agarwal and Sidhartha Babu did not advance to the finals in the mixed 50m rifle prone (SH1) competition at the Paralympic Games. Mona, who recently won a bronze in the 10m air rifle (SH1), finished 30th, while Sidhartha ended in 22nd place.

Indian shooters failed to make the final of the mixed 50m rifle prone (SH1) competition at the Paralympic Games here on Thursday.
Mona Agarwal, 36, the bronze medalist in the 10m air rifle (SH1) competition at these Games, concluded her run in 30th place with an aggregate score of 610.5 across six series.
Sidhartha Babu, who previously finished 28th in the mixed 10m air rifle prone (SH1) qualification, was unable to elevate his performance, ending 22nd with a total of 615.8.
Spain's Juan Antonio Reinaldo led the qualification rounds, scoring 626.9.
Mona, who began her shooting journey in 2021 and holds two World Cup gold medals, achieved series scores of 104.5, 100.8, 99.2, 101.9, 101.7, and 102.4, while Sidhartha shot 101.0, 102.0, 103.1, 104.6, 101.7, and 103.4.
SH1 athletes are classified as those capable of holding their gun without difficulty, shooting from either a standing or sitting position. These athletes can use both pistols and rifles.
Despite the setback, India has clinched four medals so far at the Paris Paralympics, including one gold and one silver.
