India's flagship arm-wrestling series, the Pro Panja League (PPL), is set to make a comeback for its second season from October 4 to October 20, 2024. This season will feature 180 arm-wrestlers from all corners of the nation competing across six teams in the men's, women's, and specially abled categories, vying for the coveted trophy.

Co-founded by Bollywood celebrities Parvin Dabas and Preeti Jhangiani alongside actor Suniel Shetty, the Pro Panja League previously held two editions of ranking tournaments and several promotional events prior to its successful inaugural season in 2023, which captivated 32 million unique viewers according to Sony Sports. The league has significantly widened the audience for arm wrestling in India.

Speaking about the upcoming season, co-owner Parvin Dabas expressed optimism, noting the burgeoning excitement around Panja. He promised a more thrilling season ahead. "The first season demonstrated immense audience interest when presented well, and for that, we are grateful," said Dabas, per Sony Sports' release. "This season will be even more electrifying as participants, aware of the high stakes, have prepared at an entirely new level. Our goal is to showcase top talent and elevate Panja as a premier sports entertainment in Bharat," Dabas added.

The PPL also introduced the Kochi KDs, the champion team from the first season, at a press conference held at the Constitutional Club of India. Key figures from the league, including owner G Praveen Shetty and former para-athlete Pradeep Raj, were in attendance, drawing widespread media coverage. Actor/producer Preeti Jhangiani, President of the People's ArmWrestling Federation India, was also present at the event.
