Archie Panjabi, acclaimed for her performance in 'The Good Wife', is reportedly cast as the antagonist in the upcoming second season of the popular sci-fi drama 'Doctor Who'.

Details regarding her character remain undisclosed. Both BBC and Disney+ declined to provide further comments, as reported by Deadline.

Panjabi will join the existing cast, which includes Ncuti Gatwa as the Time Lord and Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday. Additionally, Varada Sethu is set to play the co-companion, Belinda Chandra.

Panjabi rose to fame in 2002 with 'Bend It Like Beckham' and won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2010 for her role in 'The Good Wife'. She currently stars in and executive produces the Peacock Original series 'Departure'.

The next season of 'Doctor Who' is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
