Daniil Medvedev expressed his growing enjoyment of his rivalry with world number one Jannik Sinner, despite his quarter-final loss at the U.S. Open on Wednesday. This was their fourth encounter this year, with Medvedev also losing to Sinner at the Australian Open and Miami Masters but winning at Wimbledon.

'Lately a tough one for me, but compared to some matches I played with him last year when he started to beat me, I felt like I was doing the right things. I just didn't manage to execute them well,' said Medvedev.

Medvedev still leads their head-to-head 7-6, but Sinner has won six of their last seven meetings. 'He's one of the best players in the world, by ranking the best, and he deserves it,' Medvedev added.
