Victor Osimhen has found a new home at Turkish club Galatasaray, as a loan deal with Napoli was finalized on Wednesday.

Osimhen's loan is set to last until the season's end, with an additional one-year contract extension with Napoli through 2026-27.

Expressing his excitement on Instagram, Osimhen, wearing a Galatasaray shirt, announced, "I'm excited to be here and I can't wait to see you at the stadium. Let's go."

Previously linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Saudi club Al-Ahli, Osimhen's move comes after the European transfer window closed without a deal. The Turkish transfer window remains open until Sept. 13, enabling Galatasaray to secure his services following an injury to Mauro Icardi.

Fans enthusiastically greeted Osimhen as he arrived in Istanbul early Tuesday morning.

Osimhen, who scored 26 goals during Napoli's Serie A win in 2023, has faced injury challenges throughout his career.

Unhappy with Napoli's performance last season, Osimhen's transfer comes as he looks to continue playing top-level soccer. At 25, he has tallied 76 goals in 133 matches for Napoli since his record transfer from four years ago.

Besides being known for his aerial prowess, Osimhen is also recognized for the face mask he wears during games. His reunion with former teammate Dries Mertens at Galatasaray sets the stage for an exciting season.
